Welcome to Week Two of SIO 60!
This week is all about radiation balance. We will discuss various aspects of course topics:
- Fundamental radiative fluxes of energy on Earth
- Equations showing the relationship between radiation and temperature
- Radiative properties of matter such as emissivity, transmissivity and reflectivity
Week 2 Checklist
- Attend Monday April 7th, 2025 lecture from 9:00 to 9:50 am in Marine Conservation and Technology FacilityLinks to an external site. (MCTF) room 210.
- Complete pre-lab reading of background information and instructions.
- Submit pre-lab concept check quiz by Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 at 8:30 am.
- Attend Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 lab from 9:00 to 11:50 am in MCTF (we will also be working outside on the patio at MCTF).
- Submit lab report to Canvas using provided template by Sunday, April 13th at 11:59 pm.
