Welcome to Week 1 of SIO 60!
This week is all about vertical structure in the atmosphere. We will discuss various aspects of course topics I and III:
I. Basic physical characteristics of the ocean and atmosphere
III. Stratification, vertical structure, diffusion
Week 1 Checklist
- Attend Monday March 31st, 2025 lecture from 9:00 to 9:50 am in Marine Conservation and Technology Facility Links to an external site. (MCTF) room 210.
- Complete pre-lab reading of background information and instructions.
- Submit pre-lab concept check quiz by Wednesday, April 2nd, 2023 at 8:30 am.
- (Optional) read about early weather balloon expeditions - highlights marked if you're interested but short on time.
- Attend Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 lecture from 9:00 to 9:50 am in MCTF room 210 and lab directly after from 10:00 to 11:50 am in MCTF room 140 and the Scripps Pier.
- Submit lab report to Canvas using provided template by Sunday, April 6 at 11:59 pm.
