What is Environmental Health

The New York Global Health program defines Environmental Health and explains the wide range of opportunities available in this field.

 

 

WHO: Preventing Disease Through Healthy Environments

In the following video released by the World Health Organization (WHO), we learn that Environmental risk factors, such as air, water and soil pollution, chemical exposures, climate change, and ultraviolet radiation, contribute to more than 100 diseases and injuries. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 1 in 4 of total global deaths are tied to unhealthy environmental conditions. However, we can take actions to reverse the upward trend of environment-related diseases and improve our environments where we live and work.
