Instructions for P2D.1: A Working MC and Organizing Paragraphs

Brief Instructions for P2D1

It is suggested that for the first draft, you only concentrate on your "working Main Claim" because your ideas will change. Let the structure allow for what you want to use to build your support. Allow yourself to go beyond a 5-paragraph approach. This paper is not a timed piece but an opportunity to find rich and complex relationships between the two readings. Writing this first draft is about exploring and discovering how you see these relationships that have to do with policing and education and what you think about them

Do not write an introduction, just write up the working MC and follow this with paragraphs developing reasons or subclaims with supportive evidence to see how these ideas come together.  

For example:

II. Paragraph 1 and 2

    A.  Subclaim 1: My first subclaim is....

                          Reason 1 for support is...
