Example: Each class, you will be expected to attend class synchronously or watch the discussion asynchronously, read the required texts, and complete the weekly assignments. Your participation and engagement with the learning activities is crucial to succeeding in this course.
If you are new to this learning environment, take a moment to get acquainted with Canvas and make sure you have all the necessary materials and resources to succeed in this course.
Now, please follow the steps below to continue your orientation to this course.
Step 1: Read the course syllabus and course schedule
The course syllabus will provide you with the course schedule, course objectives, explanations of assignments and assessments, grading policies, and instructor contact information. Please read it carefully. You should have a deep familiarity with the schedule and process of the course.
Step 2: Access your course materials
All required readings can be found in the modules and the files sections of Canvas. The readings listed under a particular date are due for class on that date.
Zoom Video Conference:
We will be using ZOOM, a video conferencing tool, for class meetings and student support hours.
SYNCHRONOUS CLASS MEETINGS
Class runs from 11 am - 1:50 pm PST on Monday and Wednesday.
Please make sure to check the course calendar for any scheduled Zoom meetings. You can also access the Zoom scheduler by clicking Zoom LTI PRO in the left-hand navigation menu.
STUDENT SUPPORT HOURS:
I will be on zoom to talk with you, go over readings and assignments, and provide any support you might be looking for on Mondays from 4-6 pm PST, Thursday 9-11 am PST, or by appointment (email me or ask during class to schedule).
To Join Student Support Hours at the scheduled time, click the Zoom LTI PRO link in the left-hand navigation menu.
Lecture Videos:
All class meetings will be recorded and uploaded to the course's Media Gallery.
The recommended browser is Chrome; however, if you are using Safari, see the Technical Requirements page and follow the instructions to ensure access.
Step 3: Assess your readiness for remote learning

Step 4: Read the Technical Requirements Page
